Umgone is a practice coach for adults who already speak English and want to sound clear at work. You speak for one minute, and you see how your voice sounds to someone listening: how deep it is and how much it moves.

How the numbers are made
Our own code measures your recording on our own server, from the sound alone: no AI service hears it, and nothing writes down the words you said. It finds your pitch a hundred times a second, and from it the middle of your voice and how far it moves.
Before any number is shown to anyone, it has to pass our own tests on real recordings of people speaking. Our middle pitch agrees with Praat, the research tool phoneticians use, within half a semitone on every one of our reference recordings, and how far the pitch moves within one semitone. Your pace and your pauses are measured too, and they join your result only once they pass their own tests.
Every number is an estimate
One minute on one day is a small sample, and a noisy room or a far-away microphone can move a number. Use your numbers to choose what to practice and to see your own change over time. They are never a test result, a level or a certificate, and they say nothing about how you felt.
Your voice, your way
There is no right voice. Umgone never puts your middle pitch in a band or next to anyone else’s, and never asks who you are: it shows your own numbers so you can decide what to change, if anything.

Your recording
